Hi, I’m Monir Milioto, Director of Roots to Wings. I organize community events and plan our educational days—like Science Day, Art Day, and Activity Day—where children can explore, create, and connect in meaningful ways. I never set out to homeschool, but life had other plans. What once felt like a lack of choice turned out to be divine guidance leading me exactly where I was meant to be. I’m a mother of two, one boy and one girl. my passion for holistic living has completely transformed the way I experience life. Each day is a gift, full of growth, learning, and the joy of watching children thrive. I’m deeply thankful for this beautiful community and excited for all that’s still to come.

Hi, I'm Charline , Treasurer of Roots to Wings. I’m a homeschooling mama of four—three girls and one boy—and I love creating spaces where families can slow down, connect, and enjoy the beauty of childhood. As the Treasurer of Roots to Wings, I help keep things running smoothly behind the scenes and pour my heart into building a community that feels like family.
I also create a lot of the social media content, sharing little glimpses of the joy and growth we experience together. I believe in the power of play, the magic of everyday moments, and the strength that comes when families and neighbors support one another.

Hi, I’m Erika—a first-generation Mexican-American Latina homeschooling mom to three beautiful children (two girls and one boy), and the secretary of Roots To Wings. As a former military and current law enforcement wife, I spend a lot of time parenting on my own, which gave me a deep desire to build a village—a real, supportive community where we can do life and school together while raising our babies in a space that feels safe, seen, and full of shared values.
When I found this group, I immediately felt at home. It was everything I had been searching for: mothering together and families truly supporting one another. The village is real here, and that inspired me to give back and be part of the change.
In my role, I help create and run events, design our monthly newsletter for families, and manage social media to help share our story and strengthen our community. It’s a joy to help bring families together and to support the vision we’re building.
I believe in building school life through family life—where education and everyday living are woven together in love, intention, and community. Our mission goes beyond academics. We’re here to teach our children how to be good people, how to enjoy life at every stage, and how to make the most of every stage, and how to make the most of every place. Learning isn’t limited to a classroom—it happens in nature, in the flow of everyday life, on the go, and in the moments we live with purpose and joy.

Event Support & Enrichment Day Volunteer
Deena plays a vital role in shaping our events with thoughtful insight and incredible attention to detail. She’s the one who catches the little things that might otherwise go unnoticed—making our gatherings smoother, more intentional, and more meaningful. Beyond planning, Deena is deeply involved with the kids, especially during our science, art, and social-emotional learning days. Katie shares her passion for homesteading through hands-on classes that introduce families to the joy of simple, sustainable living. From raising chickens to growing gardens, her knowledge and gentle teaching style have been such a gift to our Roots to Wings community. Katie has a natural way of connecting with children and adults alike, creating a space that feels both educational and deeply rooted in nature.
